So, what the heck am I talking about anyways? A few weeks back I was channel surfing (A rare act for me) at my mom’s house and I came across the British equivalent to American Idol, called Britain’s Got Talent. If you aren’t familiar with these shows, its a contest to be the nation’s top singer where contestants go through multiple week trials in order to prove themselves to a ruthless panel of judges. Failure is common, and hysterical crying tends to follow.
Contestant after contestant, all seeking fame and recognition, continued to be rejected. Dreams crushed, and most probably never to be pursued again. But wait. A rumpled looking woman in her mid-50s wanders onto the stage. Who is that?
The crowd scoffed, expecting yet another horrendous performance. Even the judges were dreading what they were about to hear. At her age, if she was any good, everyone would have already heard of her, right?
Not. The crowd could have never in the billion years fathomed what was about to happen.
This woman performs a superb rendition of I Dreamed a Dream, which instantly wipes off those smug grins that the audience and judges once had, rather replacing it with faces full of emotion and tears. Did I mention she got 100 million views on YouTube?
So, why exactly wasn’t she famous a long time ago? Obviously she should have been.
Is it because she is too humble, and probably never believed in herself? Most probably. I think we can relate, can’t we? When was the last time you didn’t doubt yourself? I know I have and DO, and its tough to change. But is it worth changing? Of course it is.
A Susan Boyle is in all of us. Just think about it, how many of us go day in and day out thinking we’re not worthy of much? This is exactly what Susan had thought throughout her life, believing that fame was only for the young and beautiful. But guess what? She managed to get herself on stage and finally give it a shot in front of millions. Guess what? She succeeded! Not only did she succeed but she completely blew away millions of viewers.
When exactly are you going to take your shot? What’s the worst that could happen? I mean, think about it.. it’s not like you’re getting shot at or anything. Success only comes to those who try. If you’re not willing to even try, then how do you expect to create the dreams you’re hoping to create?
I myself struggled to create network marketing success! I tried buying MLM leads, I went to my local mall to prospect, and I even called people out of the phone book hoping I’d sponsor someone into my MLM business. Then, I discovered the world of online marketing and I still failed. Why? Well, what I found myself doing was nonsensical, non-productive stuff which was resulting in negative cash flow in my business. I spent my time on wasteful activities and discovered that I need to go back to the roots and build up from there.
I say take the chance to create a life of your dreams. Network marketing success can be attained but you just need a little help. Forget the past and think toward whats possible.
