So last night me and my fiance decided to run down to the local video-store and get a copy of an AWESOME movie called ‘Slum Dog Millionaire’. If you haven’t checked it out yet you absolutely need to. This flick is going to teach you a lesson about success.

The movie starts off with the main character and protagonist, Jamal, with his brother Salim, who are two kids growing up in the slums of Mumbai (formerly Bombay) and both of them live in absolute filth. I’m talking about sleeping around garbage land fills, bathing in dirty lake water and all this other horrendous stuff.

If you’re not grateful for what you have in your life then that’s another reason to watch this movie. You’ll instantly realize that what you complain about day-to-day is NOTHING compared to what some people all around the world are going through.

Anyways so Jamal and Salim are quite different. Jamal is a humble kind hearted quiet kid. His brother Salim on the other hand is an out of control foul-mouthed kid who is looking to cause trouble all the time.

While living in the slums, Jamal and Salim become friends with a little girl who is also enduring the same tough life of the Mumbai slums (Latika).

Long story short… (and I’m trying really hard not to spoil it for you) but all three kids end up being ‘adopted’ by some guy who we later find out is in the business of using poor abandoned children to go beg for money during the day.

He collects up orphaned children and takes them under his wing by providing them with food/shelter and in turn has them begging all through the streets of Mumbai during the day.

Again, long story short…  Jamal, Salim and Latika end up running away but in the process of escaping Latika is left behind with these horrible people.

Fast forward 15-20 years..

Jamal gets on India’s ‘Who Want To Be A Millionaire’ show. The whole purpose of getting on the show is as a last resort to find Latika. He is in love. He has been searching for YEARS, and every time he finds her he loses her somehow.

On the show, Jamal, a boy who has no formal education seems to be getting every single question right. This triggers a whole set of other problems for him with the authorities.

So how does Jamal, a boy who has no education or parents have all the answers to these trivia
questions he’s being asked?

Life experience. You see, during all his crazy journeys and experiences in the pursuit of Latika and slum life he gains specific knowledge to answer the questions that are being asked on
this game show.

I’m not going to give away the whole story but lets just say Latika is not in a good position and Jamal has to find and save her.

Lesson you need to learn:

When you want something, you go in with the intention of succeeding. You don’t stop until you’ve got
what you want. Jamal didn’t stop until he found Latika. His success brought about many obstacles, and
much heartache.

Are you going through obstacles in your business? Do you keep going or do you just stop and give up?
Are you persistent and consistent?

You need to commit yourself to succeeding. It’s that simple. Continue to find solutions to your challenges. Success doesn’t come easy. But its worth it. I’ve created a plan for you and it starts here

What do you think? Have you got a chance to see Slum Dog yet? Comment and let me know what you thought of it..
